Safety

Filanc is committed to the elimination of occupational injury and illness.

Each day that we are on the job, we strive to provide a safe working environment for our employees. We make every effort to prevent damage to equipment, property and to protect the general public from harm. We are dedicated to preventing pollution and environmental degradation.

To achieve these goals, we’ve implemented a safety program that is applied to each task we undertake. This steadfast adherence to safety standards not only generates a healthy work environment for Filanc employees, but it also benefits our clients by delivering valuable cost and time savings.
"My first thought, as I began observing the work [at Lake Skinner Filtration Plant Expansion]…was that the job was not staffed with enough people. After continued and increasing contact with Filanc, I soon found that … if you have a core of individuals, both management and labor, who have worked as a team, and you add individuals drawn from the union ranks, you can wind up with a great product. And, of course, your management team’s cultivation of a relationship that made the Owner’s field personnel part of a cohesive team was key.

"A final kudos: Your Safety Program works!"

“People doing the right thing” is the foundation of our safety program. Our management recognizes that employees must be given the proper resources to work safely. Supervisors are given extensive training on Filanc safety policies as well as industry best practices. Employees receive safety orientation on Day One, which is followed by continuous safety training at the jobsite level. Filanc field supervisors utilize pre-task job hazard analysis to plan each day's work; this leads to heightened safety awareness by all employees every single day.

Safety begins at the top at Filanc, and our safety record is clear evidence of our success. Our incident rate places us among the best in safety for contractors in similar lines of work.
"As was commented during our latest Partnering Session, your Safety program at Mills [Water Treatment Plant Chemical System Upgrades] has consistently been outstanding. Keep up the good work."
