January 2011 – AGC’s Annual Installation Dinner-Thursday, January 27th 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel (Sponsored by Zurich North America) — Mark Filanc, J.R. Filanc Construction Co., Inc. to be installed as the 66th AGC San Diego President

AGC’s Annual Installation Dinner is set for Thursday January 27th beginning at 5:30 pm at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel. Mark Filanc, CEO of J.R. Filanc Construction Co., Inc. will be installed as the 66th President of the AGC San Diego. A reception will be held from 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m., and dinner and all presentations, etc., will conclude prior to 9:00 p.m. Nearly 400 members have already registered for the Installation, including representatives of over 40 AGC General Contracting firms. (Many AGC Specialty and Affiliate firms consider the AGC Installation an excellent opportunity to network with industry leaders.)

August, 2010 – Filanc is again ranked among the nation’s largest Environmental Firms.
Engineering News-Record (ENR) ranked Filanc #83 on its Top 200 Environmental Firms. The list ranks the 200 largest environmental firms by revenue. Companies were ranked based on revenue for environmental services performed in 2010. Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Norbert Schulz was among those quoted in the accompanying article regarding market conditions and trends in the industry.

SDSU professor merges education with industry experience by Carlos Rico , The Daily Transcript

The San Diego construction industry has tried to work with local universities to get a program focused on construction professionals for the past 20 years, according to Kenneth D. Walsh, Ph.D.

Now Walsh, program director, chair and professor, is leading the three-year J.R. Filanc Construction Engineering and Management Program at San Diego State University. Filanc Awarded 2010 National Construction Safety Excellence Award: Filanc proudly accepted the AGC's National Construction Safety Excellence Award in March 2010. This prestigious award was announced at the AGC 91st Annual Convention in Orlando, Florida. "This makes us the safest contractor building water/wastewater treatment plants (working 300-700 hours) in the USA. It is because of the hard work and continued commitment to safety by all Filanc employees that this was possible," says Filanc's Safety Director, Dave Little. Read about it ...
