Los Amigos Stormwater Harvesting Project Dedication

Filanc Los Amigos Harvesting

Filanc is excited to announce the project completion, and dedication, for the Los Amigos Stormwater Harvesting & Direct Use Demonstration project for the City of Santa Monica.

The dedication is taking place Tuesday May 23, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Los Amigos Park, located at 500 Hollister Avenue (adjacent to John Muir Elementary and SMASH), Santa Monica, CA.

Filanc served as the General Contractor responsible for the construction of the Los Amigos Park Stormwater Harvesting & Direct Use Demonstration project for the City of Santa Monica. This project is a grant funded project to demonstrate the effectiveness of harvesting urban runoff for beneficial uses such as indoor flushing and park irrigation, which is currently using potable (drinking) water.

The project is expected to treat up to 55,000 gallons of stormwater and dry-weather runoff annually which will save an estimated 3.3 million bottles of water. The demonstration project will provide results on design, installation, and operation which will be relevant and transferable to other projects and help break down barriers to local water resource development.
