Filanc Celebrates a Double Win!

Filanc Celebrates a double win – California and Colorado┬áregions were awarded contracts.

Filanc Double San Elijo For this double win, Filanc’s Southern California region was awarded the San Elijo Land Outfall Replacement Project for San Elijo Joint Powers Authority. This $8.5 million project will consist of removing the existing 30-inch outfall from service and preplacing it with a new 36-inc OD HDPE outfall pipeline beginning at the San Elijo Water Reclamation Facility and ending at Cardiff State Beach. This project possesses its own unique set of challenges as we will install 400 linear feet of 36-inch pipe via open trench construction at the plant as well as installing 2,500 linear feet of 36-inch pipe via horizontal directional drilling (HDD) underneath the San Elijo Lagoon, the NCTD railroad tracks and Pacific Coast Highway.

In the Rocky Mountain Region, our Colorado team┬ácelebrates the construction manager at-risk (CMAR) Filanc Double Traer Storage Tankcontract award of the Upper Eagle Regional Water Authority’s Traer Creek Water Storage Tank project. Filanc Double Traer Creek Tank AerialThis project is broken down into a pre-construction phase and a construction phase. During the pre-construction phase the project will aim to demolish a two million gallon concrete tank that was placed into service in 2014, but failed when settlement of material under the foundation caused separation of the tank wall from the tank floor. Once the demolition is complete, construction of the new tank, associated water infrastructure and additional site work will commence.
