What We Do
J.R. Filanc Construction Company specializes in building, expanding and renovating water and wastewater treatment facilities.
We are one of the few companies that operate as a pure general contractor, typically performing more than 70 percent of our work with our own forces. This places us in a superior position to control project schedules, costs and quality. As a result, we enjoy numerous enduring client relationships spanning many years.
We are nationally recognized for our ability and commitment to exceed the industry standard in the design-build and traditional bid-build methods. We have also received national awards for our exceptional safety record and innovative safety programs.
The company began in 1952 as a collaboration between four partners, originally named Weardco Construction, with a base of 30 employees. One of the partners, Jack Filanc, bought out the others. He moved the company to San Diego County and renamed it J.R. Filanc Construction Company. Jack's son, Mark, holds a position in senior management of the company: President and Chief Executive Officer.
We have expanded to a team of more than 300 people, completing more than 300 major projects for counties, cities and private companies throughout the Southwest. During these, Filanc has applied our core values of integrity, respect and problem solving to every construction project, and have made many friends and forged lasting relationships with our industry partners and suppliers.
We look forward to the coming years and exciting projects ahead.
