Filanc is awarded the first ever design-build pump station and conveyance project for the City of San Diego, CA.

2001

The ‘Gator introduces a new service concept, the annual maintenance contract, and expands its repair and maintenance territory to include Orange County.

2002

The Filanc ‘Gator cartoon mascot is recreated due to the misconception that Filanc only specialized in sewers. The new ‘Gator depicts a ‘Gator going to work in his construction hard hat and gear.

2002

Pete becomes President of the AGC San Diego Chapter and was the visionary and inspiration behind the formation of the San Diego State University Construction Engineering and Management Program.

2003

Pete receives the AGC of America San Diego Chapter Sir Award presented to him for recognition of his past, present and continuing contribution to the San Diego construction industry.

2005

Filanc expands its business and opens an office in Phoenix, AZ.

2006

Filanc refurbished and moved into our 50,000 sq. ft. corporate headquarters in Escondido, CA. This Art Deco building was built in 1928 and once served as a citrus packing plant. It is registered as a historic site.

2007

Mark Filanc takes over Filanc Construction Company as President.

The San Diego State University J.R. Filanc Construction Engineering and Management Program first appeared in the California State University General Catalog in 2007.

Jack receives the AGC of America San Diego Chapter Sir Award.

2007

Mark’s son, Mark Jr., receives the honorary Eagle Scout award. That’s three generations of Filanc’s that have achieved this award, as Jack received his back in 1942.
